We are a small operation working out of Guildford, covering west Surrey and the north-east corner of Hampshire. Most of what we do is corrugated cement off garage roofs, sheds and outbuildings, textured ceilings, floor tiles and the small interior materials that turn up during building work.
What we carry out ourselves
Non-licensed and notifiable non-licensed work under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. In practice that means:
Asbestos cement in all its forms. Roof sheeting, wall cladding, soffits, flues, water tanks, gutters and trim. Thermoplastic floor tiles and the bitumen adhesive beneath them. Textured coatings. Rope seals and gaskets. Collection and disposal of material somebody else has already taken off.
Where cement is substantially damaged, or where the removal will substantially break it up, that becomes notifiable non-licensed work. It has to be reported to HSE before it starts, with the medical surveillance and record keeping that goes with it. We still carry it out. It just changes the date rather than the ability.
What we do not carry out
Licensed work. Asbestos insulating board where the job is not short duration, pipe lagging, sprayed coatings and loose fill insulation.
For those we arrange an HSE-licensed contractor and manage the job: obtaining and comparing quotes, checking the plan of work, confirming that the fourteen days notice has actually been given to HSE, coordinating the independent four-stage clearance, and making sure the consignment note and the reoccupation certificate end up with you rather than in somebody's filing cabinet.
We are direct about this because the gap is where the risk sits. A homeowner cannot tell insulating board from cement board by looking at it, and the price difference is four to one. That gap is a temptation for the wrong sort of contractor, and Regulation 8 makes carrying out licensable work without a licence a criminal offence, committed at your address on your instruction.

Access as a separate line, including scaffolding where the job needs it. Disposal identified rather than buried in a rate. Exclusions stated, because making good, replastering and the new roof are different trades and pretending otherwise causes arguments.
The thing this site does differently
It tells you when not to spend money.
Most asbestos in most buildings is doing no harm and is not going to. Cement in one piece on a garage roof, a textured ceiling under three coats of paint, a board behind a boiler nobody opens. There is no legal duty on a homeowner to remove any of it.
So the encapsulation page says that sealing at around £30 per square metre often beats removal, and it says so knowing there is more money in removal. The artex page leads with the fact that a 20 square metre ceiling is £2,750 to £6,000 to strip and a few hundred pounds to seal. The testing page says a single sample is usually the right first spend rather than a full survey.
That is not modesty. A business that only gets called when somebody is worried does better by being the one that gave the honest answer the first time.
What we will not do
Assert a licence we do not hold, or put a licence number anywhere on this site.
Describe licensable material as non-licensed to win a job.
Publish reviews, ratings, accreditation badges or job counters that are not real. Under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 fake reviews and fake endorsements are directly actionable, and in a trade like this a competitor will report you. When the accreditations and the reviews are genuine they will appear here. Until then the pages carry facts about process instead.

Do you hold an HSE asbestos licence?
No, and we are direct about that because it matters. We carry out non-licensed and notifiable non-licensed work ourselves, which covers asbestos cement, floor tiles, textured coatings, water tanks, rope and gaskets and cement flues. For licensable materials, meaning insulating board, pipe lagging, sprayed coatings and loose fill, we arrange an HSE-licensed contractor and manage the job. Any firm that tells you it can strip insulating board without a licence is describing a criminal offence under Regulation 8.
How do I know a price is honest?
Ask what is excluded, ask for access as a separate line, and ask whether the material has actually been identified. Those three questions separate a real quote from a number. This site publishes the ranges it works to, explains what moves a price within them, and says plainly where sealing at around £30 per square metre beats removal at £50 and up. There is more money in removal and we would rather tell you when it is unnecessary.
