Asbestos Removal Areas We Cover from Guildford

We work outward from Guildford. The A3 runs north to Woking and Leatherhead and south towards Godalming and Haslemere, the A31 goes west over the Hog's Back to Farnham, Aldershot and Farnborough, the A281 runs south-east to Cranleigh, and the A246 takes us east through Merrow to Dorking.

Ten towns get their own page, because there is genuinely different local information for each one. Which council area it sits in, what the housing stock is and why asbestos turns up in it, and, most usefully, what the nearest recycling centre will and will not accept.

The recycling centre question, in short

Worth reading before you plan to take anything to the tip yourself, because the picture is more restrictive than most people expect and it differs sharply across the county line.

In Surrey, only three community recycling centres accept asbestos at all: Epsom, Guildford and Shepperton. The limit is six sheets of asbestos cement, it has to be sprayed with water and double wrapped in heavy duty polythene before you arrive, a van or trailer needs a permit, and you need to show that you are a Surrey resident. Phoning the site first to check there is space in the container is also part of it.

In Hampshire it is stricter still for the towns we cover. Neither the Aldershot nor the Farnborough recycling centre takes asbestos. The nearest Hampshire sites that do are Andover, Basingstoke, Efford, Netley and Portsmouth, all of which need pre-booking by telephone, and none of which is a short trip from Rushmoor.

That leaves anyone in Aldershot or Farnborough in the awkward position of having no nearby tip that will take it, and no access to the Guildford site because it wants proof of Surrey residency.

A note on council areas

Surrey local government is being reorganised. From 1 April 2027 the county council and the district and borough councils are abolished and replaced by two unitary councils. Guildford, Surrey Heath, Waverley and Woking become West Surrey. Mole Valley becomes East Surrey. Elections were held in May 2026 and shadow councils are in place now.

Each town page names the council as it stands and the unitary it becomes part of, because a page that simply said "Waverley Borough Council" would be wrong within the year. Rushmoor, which covers Aldershot and Farnborough, is in Hampshire and is not affected.

What we do not do

There is no page here for asbestos garage roof removal in Woking, and no page for artex removal in Farnham, and no page for any of the other two hundred and twenty combinations of service and town.

That is deliberate. A matrix of near-identical pages, each one a template with the town name swapped, is the quickest way to get an entire site filtered out of search results. It also helps nobody: the work is the same in Woking as it is in Godalming, and the price is set by access and material rather than by postcode.

What differs by town is genuinely local, and that is what these pages carry.
